Crowdfunding - First Donation!

My birthday was this past week and over one thousand Facebook friends wished me “Happy Birthday!” Do you wish your Facebook friends “Happy Birthday”? It’s easy. You simply click on Events in the left hand column on Facebook and then click on Birthdays. You’ll be shown those friends who have birthdays on that very day.

I do this every day and send a special greeting, the video of me singing Happy Birthday Baby, a song I wrote a handful of years ago. In the video I wear seventeen costumes from all over the world – all of which I own with the exception of the Dutch girl costume which the Holland Michigan Visitors Bureau was kind enough to let me borrow for the shoot. Here’s the link: https://youtu.be/dtI0lj1JCT0

Happy Birthday Baby

But this blog post is not about that song. It’s about one of my Facebook friends, Howard Rosenzweig. Howard wished me Happy Birthday and included a link to a one act play he ha written, Never Revealed, that is available on Amazon. I don’t think he’d mind me including the link. https://www.amazon.com/Never-Revealed-One-Act-Play-ebook/dp/B0791VGQ6G?ref_=ast_author_mpb The play is about the devil in all of us. You’ll have to read it if you want to know more.

I thanked him for the link and said I would read it. I also shared the URL for my new movie, currently in preproduction: www.BernhardtOnBroadwaymovie.com. I then started to read the play. Before I had finished, I received a notice from my website saying a $100 donation had been received!!!

The website is new. I had been struggling with Squarespace for a month to get it up and running and planned to publicize it once January rolled around. I am going to crowdfund but was not expecting any donations yet. Who could have sent it?

Who could have sent it? Howard Rosenzweig! No strings attached. He simply made the first donation to my campaign, a campaign that had not even commenced. I, of course, thanked him and posted a review for Never Revealed – so you’ll see that, too, when you read his play. 😊

And there you have it. The story of the first donation for my full length movie musical.
